Not many of us know what it really means to be on a vacation. Is it merely about booking a room in a luxurious resort, having some bites at a fancy restaurant, sitting by the beach with a glass of cocktail in hand or just enrolling for a guided day tour with a travel agency? Vacation is a lot more than those. It is a time to set your mind free, plunge into soulful thinking, absorb the beauty of nature and let go of all inhibitions. The place can be far away from home, or sometimes, it can also be a spot in your very own hometown. Wherever it might be, the essence of vacation is to explore and be adventurous to the core; something which we are deprived of in our mundane life.

Speaking about the destination, Bali is blessed with everything that one could wish for on a vacation. From gorgeous mountains and volcanoes, breathtaking crater lakes and dense green jungles, lush rice fields and spectacular beaches, to fairy-tale-like waterfalls, and the list goes on. This island presents itself as a modern paradox because its ancient and traditional culture is still very much alive amidst modern living. While the basic conservatism of the Balinese people has enabled them to preserve many of their ancient customs, culture and religion, it has never hindered the acceptance of the new and innovative modern technological advancement.

If you are one of those people who can’t live far from the beach but are still around the green field, Tabanan regency is the right fit for you. The area has an actual twilight buzz for honeymooners, leisure travellers and hidden spot hunters. Famed for its magnificent rice paddies and pristine natural scenery, the area maintains the feel of the real Bali and attracts travellers looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience. For those who surf, the coastal area even offers some impressive surf breaks.

Where to Stay

Set between the majestic Batukaru Mountain and the infinite green of terraced rice fields, Soori Bali will let you experience humble and healthy country life. Situated on the edge of the ocean where the waves meet the glistening black sands of a volcanic beach, this luxury property is a hidden refuge that draws strength and serenity from its extraordinary surroundings. Rejuvenating, peaceful and genuine, this is Bali as it should be.

Unique Points

Designed, owned and operated by renowned architect Soo K. Chan and his wife Ling Fu, Soori Bali’s award-winning architecture puts environmental and cultural sustainability at the centre of its philosophy. Crafted out of stone from nearby village quarries, positioned with respect to ancestral ritual pathways running through its grounds, and adorned with terracotta and ceramic ornaments from local artisans, the resort maintains a true sense of place. Keeping things pure and close to the root, Soori Bali’s chefs use fresh produce with herbs and spices grown in its own garden.

Villa Selections

The property features a collection of contemporary villas suited to many palates. For couples or honeymooners, it is recommended to go with either One-Bedroom Beach Pool Villa, One-Bedroom Mountain Pool Villa, One-Bedroom Deluxe Ocean Pool Villa, or One-Bedroom Ocean Pool Villa. All 45 elegant, contemporary villas are set between the infinite ocean and the soothing green of rice fields. The next thing you need to do is to relax and let nature deliver you the pleasure!

Surroundings

Take a quick tour around the property and be dazzled! Be greeted by the spacious and attractive garden view with a backdrop of the rolling waves that will certainly add a therapeutic essence. Take a scenic waltz along the black-sand beach, and you’ll find no one as if you own the beach. Walk a bit further to experience the bucolic village life of Kelating. The rolling rice fields surrounding the property, with a view of the epic Mount Batukaru, are just across the way.

Remote yet accessible, Soori Bali is a short ride away from the legendary Tanah Lot Temple, one of the island’s most cherished sites, making it a perfect getaway spot for those who seek to delight in spiritual or recreational activities.

Culinary Journey

To treat your tummy, you can either go to Cotta or Ombak. Cotta is a semi-covered, open-air Bali beach restaurant that features tasting-style daily rotating breakfast menus, highlighting local fare and adding new twists on classic breakfast favourites with a wide selection of coffees and teas. Lunch features Asia’s favourites, while dinner highlights authentic Indonesian cuisine from across the archipelago with a strong Balinese focus.

Ombak, ‘wave’ in Bahasa, offers fine dining options. This signature restaurant features a premium Western cuisine selection. Hands-on creative cocktails are made using the island’s abundance of fresh fruits with the addition of premium spirits at the bar. The Ombak Bar and Lounge is the perfect place to watch the ever-changing sunsets of the beautiful west coast.

Activities

Get yourself a morning trek around the property. Balinese village offers you the most appealing environment to explore during your vacation. You will definitely enjoy the lovely surroundings on your way. You will be greeted with exceptional landscapes and fields inhabited by colourful flora and fauna and most of all, the friendly locals. This is highly recommended if you don’t want to miss the amazing scenery of rice fields or the beach while breathing in the fresh air.

Experience Bali’s country life with learning and excitement. There is so much to acquire about our authentic culture that will enlighten you and broaden your knowledge and skills. Traditional farming is the very wealth of rural life in Bali. You will love the spectacular view of the rice fields while getting involved in customary farming techniques.

You can also take your lover on a sunset horse ride by the beach or even hire a private helicopter ride! The team at Soori Bali can deliver such experiences filled with unforgettable discoveries, tailor-made to suit the guests’ wishes. Few places revere nature’s gifts like they do, and absolute discretion for the guests is the pattern of their craft.

Soori Bali Community Movement

Soori Bali caries out a series of initiatives to push forth their vision of caring the planet. One of them is the “Plastic for Soori Rice Initiative: Revenue generated by their venture Tenda – an ecologically empathetic cabin created to inspire and empower travellers in the exploration of new ways of living – goes into purchasing rice from local farmers. In their continuation of combatting Bali’s beach pollution as well as nourishing the local community, Soori Bali gives away 1 kilogram of rice as barter for 1 kilogram of plastic trash collected.

Make Every Second Count

Soori Bali offers a complete package of absolute relaxation, comfort and adventure that you always want to experience during holidays. It’s not enough to live on to your imagination only. You deserve a life-changing treat like this.
