Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival (UVJF) returns for its 12th edition this August, reaffirming its place as one of Indonesia’s most vibrant cultural celebrations. Set against the lush backdrop of Ubud and hosted once again at Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali, UVJF 2025 invites music lovers from around the globe to experience two days of world-class jazz, artistic collaboration, and cross-cultural connection.

Jazz, with its roots in improvisation and expressive storytelling, continues to serve as a bridge between cultures and generations. Sthala UVJF proudly upholds this tradition—offering a stage where international and Indonesian musicians meet in a spirit of creativity, spontaneity, and community.

“As with Sthala UVJF 2024, the 2025 edition will take place once again at Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali, which has consistently supported us since 2023,” said Anom Darsana, professional sound engineer and Co-founder of UVJF. “This year, we are adapting to current global developments, not only to optimize the experience for artists and audiences but also to create a more spacious and intimate atmosphere.”

This year, Teroemboe Restaurant in Sanur, Bali, was chosen by the committee as the venue for the Press Conference. With its open-air setting and breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty, spacious area, easy access, and diverse culinary options, dining at Teroemboe Restaurant is an immersive experience that tantalizes all the senses and has become one of Bali’s top culinary destinations.

This is Sthala Ubud Bali’s third time serving as the venue for the Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival. Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Ubud, Bali by Marriott International, is an enchanting sanctuary nestled amidst the verdant landscapes and flowing Wos River. They also offer various packages to make your stay even more memorable.

“We are thrilled to continue as official hotel partners for this world-class event, the Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival. This event has already become one of the most favorite jazz event destinations. As part of the Marriott Bonvoy hotel family, we consistently strive to create unique and enriching event experiences, and this Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival is something our Marriott Bonvoy members can enjoy while in Bali,” said Lasta Arimbawa, Multi-property General Manager of the hotel. “Our aim is to create memorable moments for every guest, and the culinary artistry and hospitality at Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali, play a vital role in achieving this. We believe that exceptional food, combined with our genuine Balinese hospitality and the stunning natural backdrop, truly sets us apart.”

“This growth is the result of over a decade of dedication and trust built with both local and international communities,” said Yuri Mahatma, musician and UVJF Co-founder. “Today, Sthala UVJF proudly stands as a global stage for jazz—thanks to the ongoing support of embassies, cultural institutions, and international partnerships.”

As part of the Sthala UVJF 2025 program, a series of pre‑ and post‑events showcases will be hosted at The Apurva Kempinski Nusa Dua, The Meru Sanur, Bumi Kinar (Ubud), Samasta Lifestyle Village (Jimbaran).

Each year, the Ubud Village Jazz Festival is not only curated through music but also imagined through space—thanks to the creative vision of Diana Surya and Putu Klick Swantara of Archimetriz Architect, in collaboration with Saung Construction. For Sthala UVJF 2025, their architectural narrative takes inspiration from the open air and meditative rhythms of jazz, expressed through this year’s design themes: “The Space We Breathe” and “The Space Between Sounds.” These concepts reflect the dual nature of jazz—rooted in both presence and pause, breath and silence.
