This week, boutique fragrance house OLFAC3 welcomed guests to its Bali store for a special scent discovery event, made possible through a unique collaboration with Bali News. The event, hosted at the invitation of Bali News, offered a rare opportunity to explore the full range of OLFAC3’s globally inspired perfumes in an intimate setting.
Founded in 2016, OLFAC3 has built a quiet but growing presence in the niche perfume world, with stores in Paris and Malaysia and a dedicated customer base online. Despite its international footprint, the brand remains deeply rooted in Bali, where its founder and CEO, Aien Mokhtar , has chosen to keep the heart of the business.
“I wanted to create something personal, not mass-produced,” Aien Mokhtar said during the event. “Fragrance, to me, is about memory and identity. And Bali felt like the right place to bring that vision to life.”
Aien’s connection to scent is closely tied to her upbringing. As the daughter of a diplomat, she spent her childhood moving between countries. Each perfume in the OLFAC3 collection draws from these early experiences all around the world.
Thanks to the platform offered by Bali News, the event allowed guests to test each fragrance, learn about its story, and discuss ingredients directly with the OLFAC3 team. Attendees were invited to slow down, reflect on their personal scent preferences, and experience the brand in an intentional, unhurried way.
While OLFAC3 has a growing following abroad, Aien as chosen to limit delivery services to Bali. It’s a deliberate decision that reflects her focus on quality, sustainability, and local presence over rapid scale.
“We do have stores in Paris and Malaysia, and people can find us online, but we’re not trying to be everywhere,” she explained. “This is about building something that lasts, not just something that grows fast.”
For those who attended, the event was a welcome change from the often fast-paced world of beauty retail. With soft music, thoughtful curation, and personalized guidance, OLFAC3 offered more than just perfume it offered a moment of connection.
As the fragrance industry continues to evolve, OLFAC3 stands out for its steady, story-driven approach, one that values meaning just as much as scent.
