A great restaurant concept can make a business grow at full speed, and having unique restaurant themes will intrigue more customers as well as draw media attention. By all means to argue that dinner is already an experience. But having dinner at a unique restaurant goes the extra mile by adding entertainment.

This island paradise isn’t just a feast for the eyes — it’s a playground for the palate, where culinary creativity meets immersive storytelling. Whether you fancy a circus-inspired brunch, a gothic dinner show, or tapas with a cheeky twist, Bali’s most unique restaurants promise more than just a meal — they deliver an experience. In this guide, we uncover the island’s most imaginative dining spots, where every bite comes with a side of wonder.

Koral Restaurant

The First Aquarium Restaurant in Bali: Combining fresh and seasonal products, guests are presented with an array of artisanal set menu and signature degustation menu. Providing modern cuisine with a twist, Koral delivers a culinary experience like no other. It is the amalgamation of talent, locally sourced fine ingredients and surprising compositions that has secured our place as a unique destination on The Island of Gods. Guests are invited to an underwater world of bistronomic delights at Koral, the aquarium dining experience at The Apurva Kempinski Bali. All of the senses are stimulated at this unique venue for the very first time.

At Koral, diners will feast on elegant dishes inspired by Indonesian coastal flavours and crafted from local ingredients, at a venue that is both casual and refined. More than just a restaurant, Koral offers a full bistronomic experience, combining delectable dining, a laid-back ambiance and the rarefied atmosphere of an aquarium, accompanied with a hypnotic soundtrack that captures the magic and mystery of life below the waves.

The Beach Shack

The Beach Shack at Karma Beach is Bali’s newest oceanfront dining destination, where vibrant Indian coastal flavours meet laid-back island vibes. Set right on the sands of Melasti Beach, this beachside restaurant draws inspiration from the soulful charm of Goa’s iconic shacks, offering a relaxed yet elevated dining experience with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

Led by Chef Jeevraj, the menu showcases bold, regional dishes from across India. Highlights include the rich and spicy Laal Maas, the tangy Pork Vindaloo, a fragrant Goan Fish Curry, and the comforting Dal Lasooni Tadka. Open all day for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, The Beach Shack invites guests to experience the vibrant flavours of Indian cuisine from sunrise to sunset.

Arrive in style via Karma’s newly launched hill tram, making the journey as memorable as the meal itself. With rustic beach décor, a breezy open-air setting, and an immersive atmosphere, The Beach Shack is perfect for a long lunch, sunset cocktails, or a starlit dinner by the sea.

Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking to try something new, The Beach Shack offers a unique culinary escape at one of Bali’s most breathtaking locations.

Ji Restaurant Bali

Ji Restaurant Bali is a dining experience unlike any other—where time, tradition, and taste converge in a setting that’s both historically rich and visually captivating. Housed within a meticulously restored 319-year-old Chinese temple, the space is steeped in cultural fusion. Ornate animal carvings on dark antique wood and a vibrant reinterpretation of Japanese calligraphy—featuring mythical flora and fauna—reflect the harmonious blend of ancient Japanese and Chinese artistry. Ji doesn’t just preserve the past; it reimagines it for the present.

The fusion of cultures extends into the heart of Ji’s concept—taking guests on a journey through mystical Japan and the Far East. Rather than modern trends, the culinary vision focuses on reviving the soul of traditional Japanese cuisine, interpreted through the eyes of passionate chefs. Exquisite sushi, rich broths, charcoal-grilled delicacies, and refined small plates are served with an artful balance of authenticity and global finesse, resulting in dishes that feel timeless yet new.

The experience reaches its peak at Ji Terrace by the SEA, where guests enjoy sweeping 180-degree ocean views and magical sunsets. Whether dining beneath temple ceilings or golden skies, Ji is a sensory escape—an homage to heritage, layered with elegance and storytelling.

Nudi Beach Bar & Restaurant

Nudi Beach Bar & Restaurant at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Nusa Dua offers a unique beachfront dining experience. Overlooking the ocean and situated beside the resort’s main swimming pool, this two-level venue features relaxed seating and sun loungers, making it a go-to place for casual meals and drinks.

The restaurant’s name is inspired by nudibranchs, the colourful sea creatures found in Bali’s waters. Its design takes cues from the traditional Balinese lumbung, a wooden and grass-structured rice barn. This touch of local culture blends with modern comfort, creating a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere.

Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the ocean while sipping sundowner drinks or enjoying light meals and snacks. Its beachfront location and open-air design make it a favourite during happy hour, especially for those looking to unwind by the pool.

Whether you’re in the mood for a casual bite or a refreshing cocktail, Nudi Beach Bar & Restaurant combines local charm with seaside comfort.

Centerstage

Dining out with a live music performance is so normal. We can find it in almost every restaurant on this island. But what about enjoying your dinner in the middle of a rock concert? This lobby bar at Hard Rock Hotel Bali, Centerstage, is better known as live entertainment rather than a typical hotel lobby. You can imagine a 100,000-watt charge of audio-visual system blazing hard while the crowd singing along around you.

Pier Eight

Nestled on the Semawang Beach, Sanur, Pier Eight at InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort, is a beachside restaurant that honors the historical port town of Sanur. The name is derived from the fact that Sanur is historically a port town and Bali’s unique geographic location situated eight degrees south of the equator. This exquisite venue seamlessly blend the charm of traditional village with the elegance of beachfront setting.

Pier Eight features indoor and al-fresco dining setting, creating a trendy yet relaxed beach club atmosphere where guests can savour the stunning views of the blue shallow waters of Semawang Beach with colorful Balinese “Jukung” boats resting on the white sand. The restaurant offers the tantalising selection of chef’s specialties that blend classic and contemporary flavours, complemented by an impressive array of cocktails and a meticulously curated wine list.

Indulge in a unique breakfast experience aboard a traditional Balinese “Jukung” boat. Embark on a morning excursion, savour a stylish breakfast and enjoy the beautiful sunrise on the horizon. In the evening, guests can enjoy dinner accompanied by daily live acoustic music. The beachside activities add to the charm, featuring bonfires and marshmallows every Sunday and Friday, and a mesmerising Fire Dance performance every Saturday.

Gracie Kelly’s

Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub has been inspired by a classic Irish tower, complete with a distinctive steeple and large ornate windows. However, exposed red brickwork and semi-industrial elements give the building a more contemporary edge. This eye-catching design concept still manages to respect Bali by utilizing locally sourced materials. Although now much larger in size, Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub retains many of the quirky features and decorative accents that have appealed to guests over the years. It is a multi-storey venue with an outdoor terrace, an extended bar, and a wood-panelled stage. With a stone fireplace in one corner and parlour seating nooks to recreate the ambiance of an authentic Irish pub, people can come to eat, drink, and be entertained by live music in air-conditioned comfort.

A mezzanine-styled second floor is accessible via an elaborate staircase or a modern lift fitted with a vintage accordion gate. This upper area entertains guests with pool tables, electronic darts, and other fun pub activities. It is supported by a smaller bar and a wrap-around counter that looks down over a wrought-iron railing onto the stage below.

Gracie Kelly’s has become a social hub for Bali Dynasty Resort guests and outside visitors alike. It offers a weekly schedule of various activities, including live bands, DJ music, a jukebox, and the resort’s famous charity quiz night. There is also a big screen where crowds can gather to watch live sporting events from all around the world. Gracie Kelly’s resident pair of leprechauns have committed to continuing their starring role at the venue. Always a hit with the children, these pint-sized icons will get everyone into the party mood with their playful antics and crazy dance moves. Another fun gimmick is a customized Gracie Kelly’s vehicle where guests can enjoy escorted rides from the lobby down to the main street.

Keramas Aeropark

Despite some airlines acquiring world-class chefs to create their menus, few passengers are likely to get revved up about the prospect of eating 30,000 feet above the ground. Perhaps it’s because our taste buds have a tendency to malfunction at altitude. Some argue that we’re simply bad tempered when flying and thus more likely to complain. But what if you could make the aeroplane itself your destination and not just the means of getting there? All while keeping our feet firmly on the ground?

Cosmic

Taking inspiration from the New York City in the ’60s, this restaurant is unique and compelling with its decoration, bursting with vibrant colours, as well as celebrating the music and youth culture of the time. You can expect dog-tooth patterns, optical art and a 60s-style seating arrangement.
