Exhibiting unparalleled academic acumen on the global stage, top-tier scholars have clinched premier accolades at the 2026 World Mathematics, Science, and English Cup (WMC/WSC/WEC) Global Finals. Following a meticulous two-week cross-regional verification protocol, the official results were unveiled on April 25, revealing a monumental medal bounty, with students from Hong Kong and Macau delivering masterclass performances.
However, as the dust settles on this year’s illustrious academic crucible, the international organizing committee is already looking to the future—with its sights set firmly on the Indonesian archipelago.
The global summit, convened from April 10 to 13, was primarily anchored at the Oriental Impression Hotel in Zhuhai, China. To facilitate international contingents, the organizing committee pioneered a synchronized remote competition format, flawlessly transcending geographical constraints. The event drew a constellation of elite scholars from over 21 nations and territories, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, Brazil, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Hong Kong Ascends to Second Globally
The Hong Kong representative team executed a phenomenal performance against formidable global adversaries, securing a stellar overall ranking of second place worldwide. The delegation amassed an impressive treasury of 16 Diamond, 23 Gold, 14 Silver, and 16 Bronze awards.
Four prodigious Hong Kong students were bestowed with the fiercely contested “World Star” accolade for their unwavering and superlative academic consistency: Sim Lui Yee Edelweiss (Maryknoll Convent School, Secondary Section), Lo Ching Lung (Munsang College Primary School), Ngan Hei Yu Lucas (G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College, Primary School), and Chu Ying Cheung Ansel (Victoria (Harbour Green) Kindergarten). Furthermore, Suen Ching Long and Ngan Hei Yu Lucas captured the dual crowns of Global Champion and Greater Bay Area Champion in the Mathematics Cup, securing the prestigious “Pinnacle of Geometry” and “Arithmetic Virtuoso” awards.

Pui Ching Middle School Powerhouse Drives Macau’s Astounding Medal Sweep
The Macau delegation left an indelible mark on the tournament, sweeping a staggering 26 Diamond, 35 Gold, 48 Silver, and 50 Bronze medals. At the absolute forefront of this phenomenal success was the unrivaled academic powerhouse, Pui Ching Middle School Macau. Both the Main and Coloane campuses delivered a spectacular masterclass in academic excellence, utterly dominating the competition to emerge as the undisputed biggest winners of the region.

Further cementing Pui Ching’s supremacy, four of Macau’s six coveted “World Star” honors were claimed by their prodigious scholars: Kwan Chi Cheng and Cheng Cheok In from the Main Campus, alongside Lei Pak Hei Nathan and Shi Muzhi from the Coloane Campus. Adding to the institution’s majestic legacy, Pui Ching (Coloane) prodigy Shi Muzhi eclipsed a formidable roster of global challengers to exclusively seize the WSC’s special honor, the “Daily Life Sciences Distinction Award.”
A Strategic Call to the Archipelago: Seeking an Indonesian Country Partner for 2027
While this year’s competition witnessed extraordinary displays of intellect from across the globe, the WMC/WSC/WEC International Organizing Committee has explicitly identified Southeast Asia’s rising academic titan—Indonesia—as a crucial missing piece in its global tapestry.
Acknowledging Indonesia’s meteoric rise and increasingly formidable presence in international Mathematics, Science, and English Olympiads, the committee expressed a profound desire to integrate Indonesian scholars into this prestigious arena.
“The academic renaissance we are witnessing across Indonesia, from Jakarta to Bali and beyond, is nothing short of remarkable. Indonesian students are consistently demonstrating world-class proficiency in STEM and linguistic disciplines,” a spokesperson for the global committee stated. “To harness this incredible potential, we are officially launching a campaign to recruit a dedicated Country Partner in Indonesia for the 2027 tournament.”
The committee is actively seeking to collaborate with esteemed Indonesian educational organizations, academic institutions, or visionary enterprises to spearhead local qualifiers and assemble a formidable national delegation. By establishing a robust partnership, the WMC/WSC/WEC aims to provide Indonesia’s brightest young minds with a premier platform to cross swords with the world’s elite, further elevating the nation’s academic prestige on the global frontier.
Interested educational bodies, schools, and potential partners in Bali and throughout Indonesia are highly encouraged to contact the WMC/WSC/WEC International Organizing Committee to forge a partnership that will shape the next generation of global innovators.
