There is something about Bali at the end of the year. The evenings feel warmer, the lights begin to glow, and familiar celebrations take on a distinctly island rhythm.

This December, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort captures that feeling with “The Poetry of the Glow,” a festive season inspired by the simple beauty of light and the moments it brings people together. From the first candle lit at the resort’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony to Christmas tables filled with family and friends, the season blends the warmth of Christmas with the colour, culture and hospitality of Bali.

The festivities begin on 4 December at 6 PM with the resort’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony at the Rotunda Lobby, where the resort will be illuminated for the season with a special candle ritual. Continuing the theme of light, guests can also bring the experience into their own stay with the Candle Experience, available across all room categories from November 2026 to February 2027. Priced at IDR 3,500,000++ per set-up, the experience includes a one-time candle arrangement, a bottle of Pommery Champagne, a flower bouquet and welcome amenities.

A Christmas Eve of Two Experiences

On Christmas Eve, guests can choose between two distinctly different celebrations.

At Cucina, the evening takes a more intimate turn with a five-course set menu paired with selected wines and signature cocktails, accompanied by live violin and piano performances from 6 PM to 11 PM. For those looking for a more relaxed tropical celebration, the Gamelan Ballroom will host a festive buffet with live music and a fire dance performance.

Christmas Eve dining starts from IDR 899,000++ per adult and IDR 495,000++ per child aged 6–12.

Christmas Day continues with a choice of festive brunches. From 11 AM to 3 PM, Cucina will serve an indulgent brunch featuring Italian, French and Asian favourites, alongside gourmet charcuterie, live music, a children’s choir and a visit from Santa Claus. Meanwhile, the Gamelan Ballroom offers an open-air festive buffet from 12 PM to 4 PM, accompanied by a live band, Christmas carols and festive entertainment. Both Christmas Day brunches are priced at IDR 1,350,000++ per person.

For dinner, Kwee Zeen brings an Asian-inspired festive spread to the table from 6 PM to 10:30 PM, with prices starting from IDR 799,000++ per person.

For families and groups looking for a more private celebration, Festive Group Dining offers a four course set menu throughout December. Available from 1–31 December for a minimum of eight guests, the experience starts from IDR 850,000++ per person.

Welcoming 2027, Sofitel Style

The festive season reaches its finale on New Year’s Eve, with several ways to welcome 2027.

Guests looking for a more intimate dinner can celebrate at Cucina or Kwee Zeen, with New Year’s Eve dining starting from IDR 1,800,000++ per adult and IDR 900,000++ per child aged 6–12.

For those ready to make an evening of it, the resort’s signature La Nuit Midnight in Paris returns with a glamorous beachfront celebration at the Gamelan Grand Ballroom. The evening features a six-course dinner, free-flow alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, live entertainment by Lydia Rose, a DJ and a front-row view of the resort’s midnight fireworks and pyrotechnics. Prices start from IDR 5,000,000++ per adult and IDR 2,500,000++ per teenager aged 13–17.

A Festive Season for the Whole Family

Beyond the dining table, the festive programme continues throughout the resort. At Sofitel SPA, guests can choose from a selection of seasonal wellness treatments ranging from 60 minutes to two hours, offering a quieter way to unwind during the holiday period.

Younger guests will have their own festive adventures at the Kids Club, with holiday activities throughout the season, including Santa’s special gift visits on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, a New Year’s themed celebration and a programme of recreational activities with voucher giveaways. One of the season’s highlights will be a traditional Balinese Ngelawang parade, with Santa Claus joining the procession for a playful meeting of Balinese tradition and Christmas spirit.

“The Poetry of the Glow” is ultimately about the moments we share during this time of year—from gathering around a festive table and discovering familiar traditions in new ways, to simply spending time together. At Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, the festive season is an invitation to celebrate Bali, embrace the warmth of the holidays and create memories that stay long after the lights go out.
