An Open Day For Startups, Investment For Foreigners Doing Business In Indonesia
Bali is experiencing increased foreign investment activity since the government opened its borders in early 2022. During the global pandemic, Bali’s economy was crippled as much of the investment before Covid-19 relied on the tourism sector. Bali Foreign Investment Advisory (BFIA) is aligned with the Indonesian government’s commitment to promoting inclusive, sustainable and collaborative investment – the theme of the G20 and B20 meetings held in Bali in late 2022. To advance this commitment a collaboration has been formed with Okki Soebagio, a Founding Partner of Soebagio and Partners, a leading Indonesian and foreign investment strategy firm.
“Bank Indonesia projects solid national economic growth in Indonesia in 2023, in the 4.5-5.3% range. To contribute to the economic recovery and opportunity for foreign investors in Bali, and across the nation, it is a natural choice for us to form a strategic collaboration with Soebagio and Partners, which has a history of promoting collaborative investment in Indonesia”, BFIA spokeswoman, Intan Westlake said.
“Bringing Indonesian and foreign investors together to share their vision and investment experience at Okki’s Gatherings contributes to shaping sustainable investment and growth,” notes Okki. “One crucial step that many foreign investors forget when investing in Indonesia is to socialise their business or investment intentions. This is one of the area that we specialise in: facilitating the socialising on behalf of investors to the local community, and to local and national government agencies”, Mr. Soebagio said.
“The investment opportunity is there, while challenges do exist for foreign investors in Indonesia. Our commitment to Indonesia is to facilitate good and inclusive investment, offer new fast-track online services, provide a national service to protect investments as the government continues to reform their investment policies and improve their regulatory environment”, Ms. Westlake states.
