They say that the view really works up an appetite. For sure, there’s no science to support that statement. However, if the number of restaurants in Bali keeps popping up every month is any indication, this seems like a valid conjecture. Whether it be a backdrop view of the ocean, fresh nature or busy city life, all is definitely a perfect treat that will tantalise your taste buds.

So in this modest chronicle, we tip our hat To those establishments that offer grandeur in gazes, Yet spare us the grand expense. Million-dollar vistas, served with soul, But without the price tag on your plate.

Adriana Cocina & Bar

Perched above Movenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali at the lively rhythm of Samasta Lifestyle Village, Adriana Cocina & Bar offers more than just a place to dine. It is a space where atmosphere, flavour and human connection come together with effortless ease. As the breeze carries hints of the ocean and soft music lingers in the background, the rooftop venue unfolds as one of Bali’s most compelling destinations for those seeking not just a meal, but a mood.

The first thing that draws you in is the space itself. Adriana doesn’t hold back. It’s bold, colourful, and full of personality, clearly inspired by the expressive world of Frida Kahlo. There’s something playful in the way colours meet textures, in the handcrafted details that feel both artistic and personal. It’s vibrant without being overwhelming, lively without losing its warmth. You don’t just sit here, but you settle in.

As the afternoon drifts into evening, the rooftop slowly changes character. The light softens, the colours glow a little warmer, and everything feels just a bit more relaxed. There’s music in the background, but never too loud. Conversations carry easily. It’s the kind of setting where sunset doesn’t feel like an event, it just happens, naturally, as part of the experience.

di Mare

At the southern tip of Bali’s Bukit peninsula, where the land meets the Indian Ocean in the most dramatic fashion, di Mare at Karma Kandara has built a quiet reputation as one of the island’s finest intimate dining destinations.

The 80-seat restaurant has recently unveiled a refreshed al fresco aesthetic. Breezy and sun-bleached, with natural wood, aquatic tiles and flowing linen chandeliers that evoke the Amalfi Coast.

Its signature menu is crafted by Executive Sous Chef Stefan Thietz and Group Executive Chef Joseph Antonishek. Rooted in Italian tradition, the menu moves through wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas and creamy risottos with an ease that feels considered without being fussy. A weekly Chef’s Inspirations section adds something less predictable – regional recipes gathered from travels across Italy, from ancient Roman-style seabass to rustic Bolognese, while fully bespoke tasting menus are available for those who want something tailored entirely to their own table.

Dessert takes a playful turn. The A Brillo, an espresso martini poured over gelato, sits alongside a Limoncello Ricotta Cheesecake and Hazelnut Mascarpone Semifreddo, rounding off the meal with just the right amount of indulgence.

Secana Rooftop, Berawa

Perched above Berawa with a panorama that stretches from Uluwatu up along the Canggu coastline, Secana Rooftop earns its reputation the moment you step out into it. The views alone would be enough, but the rooftop delivers on every other front too. A stunning pool, cabanas, and open terrace seating anchor the daytime experience, where the vibe is unhurried and the bites are light and well-considered. Then, as Canggu’s famous golden hour takes over the sky, something shifts.

With 2-for-1 cocktails from 4pm to 7pm, guests linger well into the evening as sundowners give way to dinner. The Mediterranean-leaning menu is built for sharing, drawing on local flavours without losing its polish. Antipasti and seafood platters open the meal, while mains move from Pan Roast Plaice and 300g Wagyu Fillet to rich Mushroom Risotto, alongside premium takes on pasta and pizza.

Special event nights bring DJ sets and a livelier energy into the mix. Open daily, 9am–11pm, with food served from 11am, there’s a reason Secana Rooftop has become one of Bali’s go-to destinations for dining with a view.
