Marine Safari Bali hosted an exclusive talk show, “Exploring Coral Reefs: Dive into the Colourful World of Underwater”, bringing together leading marine conservation enthusiast, researchers, and educators to discuss the beauty and challenges of coral reef ecosystems. The event held on Friday, 14th March 2025 at Marine Safari Bali in Gianyar, provided valuable educational approaches into sustainable marine practices and ocean preservation efforts.

The engaging discussion featured distinguished speakers at the forefront of marine conservation. Started with Herni Frilia Hastutie, Education and Outreach Coordinator of the Coral Triangle Center, highlighted the importance of marine education and how public awareness is crucial to preserving biodiversity in the Coral Triangle. Pariama Hutasoit, Chairwoman of Bali Blue Harmony, spoke about the role of local communities in coral reef conservation and how collaborative efforts are restoring Bali’s fragile marine ecosystems. Ryannyka Dwi Astuti, Research and Education Manager of Yayasan LINI, shared insights on sustainable fisheries management and the science behind coral rehabilitation. Continued with Kenneth Kwang, Senior Curator of Marine Safari Bali, that provided insights into the role of public aquariums in marine conservation and how Marine Safari Bali bridges the gap between education and preservation. Closed with the sharing session by Samuel Liu, Operations Manager of Marine Safari Bali, addressed the intersection of tourism and conservation, emphasizing the park’s commitment to responsible marine tourism.

“At Marine Safari Bali, we are dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between people and the beauty diversity of underwater through immersive education initiatives,” said Ms. Laetitia Delvart, General Manager of Taman Safari Bali. “Learning should be fun, this talkshow also demonstrated our commitment to explore, inspire and preserve.” she added.

Marine Safari Bali offers visitors an immersive journey through diverse aquatic habitats, showcasing key marine and freshwater ecosystems, from the tropical Ra inforest Zone, lake and River Zone to costal and vast Ocean Zone, which features over 10,000 fish from 300 species, marine mammals, and in curated exhibits. Through these zones, and the famous theatrical underwater performance of Varuna, Marine Safari Bali provides a whole unforgettable experience while reinforcing its mission of marine education and conservation.

The event brought together marine enthusiasts, conservationists, students, and the general public, fostering engagement through expert discussions and interactive learning experiences. Attendees left with an appreciation for the vibrant world of coral of Indonesia reefs and the urgent need for their protection.
