The news of the passing of my dear friend, Djoko Moeljono, Editor Bali Tribunnews, has left me completely heartbroken. He left us on Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, at around 4AM WITA at his home. While the Balinese media community mourns the loss of a brilliant editor, I am mourning the loss of a truly irreplaceable friend.

His sudden departure leaves a deep void within the Balinese press circles. Throughout his dedicated tenure as the Editor of Bali Tribunnews, he was widely recognised by his peers as a highly responsible professional, deeply committed to delivering reliable and impactful news to the public.
Djoko and I shared a bond that went far beyond the newsroom. Looking back at our journey, I am flooded with memories of the countless projects we tackled together side-by-side. He wasn’t just talented; he was the person you wanted next to you when things got tough. His unwavering integrity, sharp mind, and infectious dedication always brought out the absolute best in everyone around him, especially me. His dedication to pursuing truth and keeping the public informed will always be remembered as a significant contribution to the Bali media landscape.

To my dear friend Djoko—thank you for the camaraderie, the laughters, big smiles and the unforgettable chapters we wrote together. You fought the good fight, and your legacy will live on in every story we continue to tell.
You will be missed deeply, but never forgotten.
