Bali always has something for everyone! Each and every day we see and feel envy about amazing moments that travellers share on Instagram. Solo travellers, honeymooners, family, group of besties, locals, foreign – no matter what kind or types of travellers they are, the captured moments ignite the desire to pack the bag and explore.

This gorgeous island carries vibes which are so unique that wherever you turn to snap a photo, you’ll be able to capture at least a bit of that special aura. From glistening seascapes and lush landscapes to colourful restaurants, picture-perfect resorts and so much more, this is a true paradise for the avid Instagrammer. In many places, you don’t even need a filter over the photo. This island, without a doubt, will turn your passive social media observer into an avid Instagrammer.

Would you like to brighten up your Instagram? Here is our list of the most instagrammable spots in Bali.

TEMPLES

Lempuyang temple

out of town bali

This is the famous Gate of Heaven that overlooks the Agung volcano. However, this spot is popular among Instagrammers, so you might want to wait you’re your turn to snap some good pictures.

Uluwatu Temple

Imagine a temple perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. And you can walk through it, exploring its pathways and running into the cheeky monkeys which inhabit it. “The Temple on the Edge of the Cliff” is that classic Bali image we’re all longing for, and if you visit it at sunset you’ll witness a really jaw-dropping sight during a Kecak Dance performance.

Tanah Lot Temple

As one of the most popular places of interest in Bali, Tanah Lot Temple is without a doubt serves beautiful sunset. Located on the coast of West Bali in the Tabanan Regency, it is the place to worship the Sea God of Balinese and is uniquely placed on a rock formation out from the coast, which makes it appear to be floating on the water during high tide. This spot has such awe-inspiring beauty, capturing what’s best about being alive on this magnificent place we call earth.

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

This floating temple, situated in Bratan Lake, is probably the most photographed temple in Bali. It’s also been one of Indonesia’s icons printed on 50,000 rupiah paper money. Hiring a small boat gives a chance to see it from a different angle of view.

NATURE

Tegallalang Rice Terraces

In Ubud, a 25-minute scooter ride from the Ubud centre will take you to this spot. Words can’t really describe the sheer impressiveness of this landscape – but thankfully, photos can. So impress yourself first and your Insta audience second with a visit to one of the most carefully maintained rice fields in Bali. A little tip: set out early and aim for the sunrise to see something truly special.

Bunut Bolong

west bali

Situated in Manggisari Village of Pekutatan District, Jembrana Regency, Bunut Bolong is a unique Banyan Tree with a big hole at the bottom of the tree. This so-called secret tree is located on the ridge of a hill and surrounded by the clove plantations and a deep gorge with green tropical forest. The name ‘Bunut Bolong’ is given due to the characteristic nature of this tree. The word ‘Bunut’ comes from the Balinese word for the big tree that is the same species as the banyan tree, while ‘bolong’ means ‘a hole’. This Banyan Tree is very much famous among tourists from all over the world as this site is recognised as one of the well-known tourist destinations in west Bali.

It also provides heaps of meditation spots overlooking the gorgeous fields.

Catching the sunrise from the top of an active volcano of Mount Batur is quite a surreal experience. Having the sky lights up bright red and the world changes colour and intensity, you will bath in the red glow. From the top of the volcano, you can also enjoy the crystal clear waters of Lake Batur below. Located in Batur village of Kintamani District, your 2 hours effort will be paid off!

Bali Boat Shed

This little boutique is a darling of Petitenget. From the outside, it’s inviting and playful: lovely shack houses with colourful facades, a bit of greenery, and shop windows that are bound to catch your eye. Inside, it’s a vibrant little world to explore. Enjoy the bright interiors and immerse yourself in the fashion galore. No worries, they have both women’s and men’s apparel, and you’ll probably find the outfits as Insta-worthy as the place itself.

I tried to collect all kinds of different places and pick out the most Instagrammable ones among villas, landscapes, temples, and beloved local shops. But as it always goes with Bali, the list could go on forever. In the end, it’s best to see it for yourself and share your impressions with your followers. It will be difficult to resist the urge to snap away the moment you step foot on this paradise – and why should you? The question is, can your ‘gram take all this beauty at once?
