The ellipsoidal Batur Caldera, 13 x10 km was formed during the collapse of the strato-volcano over 3,500 m around 29,300 years ago. In the inner of this dramatic caldera existed Lake Batur 1000m and Mount Batur 1717m ASL, villages: Songan, Belandingan, Pinggan, Batur, Kedisan, Buahan, Abang and Trunyan (Bali Again) appeared the colours of the caldera bottom. Over 50,000 peoples live in this volcanic territorial, agricultural industry and vegetation growth occurred and caused great economic production, tourism is following.

Big water temple Ulun Danu is existed at the bottom by the road 3 km before the viewpoint. Interestingly, parts of the caldera emerged rich in stunning views provided to the travellers. The view of Mount Rinjani on the next island (Lombok) is super fantastic from dawn till sunrise. The vegetative stunning view magnificently: onion, tomato, chill are growing around the montane areas.

Both from the Ocean and Lakesides are available to rich this location by vehicle or motorcycle. Daily morning tours arrived since eastern dawn appearing in the early morning is available. Interesting moment to witness the spectacular sunrise around 06-07 in the morning. And travellers are visiting this Northeastern island sunrise point in the northeast of Lake Batur, both international and local travellers are reaching this for sunrise view. Both overnight or early morning tour organized by local travel agencies in various parts of Bali.

Years experienced in tourism industry services encourage Dex Arta to be a great tourist server and designed his hostel and camps to assist his guests during their overnight in his camps and hostel. Travellers don’t have to worry about things needed because he is very helpful in advising his guests what: to do and not, welcome drink, dinner lunch and breakfast is served with his little warung near his hostel under the viewpoint. His camping service is one of these lodges. Local meals, grilled BBQ fishes or chicken are served very. Well. Juices: seasonal local fruits are depending on season and tend to order in advance due to the fruit season.

Walking around the vegetative landscapes over the caldera rim above the lake is so amazing. From this camping area, you can also take a walk down to the Sea takes about three hours and on the other side an hour and a half down to the lakeside. The most interesting is trekking from the camps to the Bali Aga village (Trunyan) at the foot of Mount Abang, and visiting their open cemetery (unburied dead body) on the lake edges, and take a boat to cross the lake to Toya Bungkah (Hot Spring) is a great idea, the view from the lake surface is great. Walking guides are arranged everywhere around the caldera, but hospitality and friendly service is importantly needed, DEX ARTA will advise his guests for that activities. The 16 km2 Lake is a fantastic volcanic cluster view.
