The Bali Water Foundation, a women-led organization, is thrilled to announce the commencement of early trials for Asia’s first plant-based reusable water bottle, set to be manufactured in Indonesia.
This initiative represents a pivotal step in the Foundation’s mission to combat plastic pollution and address health issues for both humans and wildlife arising from microplastics, nanoparticles, and metals found in conventional plastic water bottles and tumblers.
“This important journey began in 2020 when we started searching the globe for renewable material technology suitable for transfer and manufacturing in Indonesia. The plastic problem extends beyond Bali,” stated Doerthe Szech, representative of the Bali Water Foundation.
“While we are currently in the testing phase, we are excited about the opportunity to introduce this innovative technology in Indonesia. Our goal is to launch our plant-based reusable water bottle in both the Indonesian and international markets in early 2026,” Ms. Szech added.
As Bali and many regions worldwide face urgent environmental crises due to plastic pollution, the introduction of the plant-based reusable water bottle embodies a commitment to responsible consumption and environmental stewardship.
