When your tummy is in need of something refreshing after travelling around the island, Japanese food will always be there to rescue you. Japanese delicacy is elegant and polished. Its preparation and presentation have been shaped over the centuries to create the perfect blend of textures, flavours and freshness of the daily produce.
Unlike other country’s delicacies where slow cooking and mixing of a lot of sauces and herbs are involved, Japanese values the freshness of the food and would appreciate eating the raw with extra sauces as dipping condiments. From fresh Sashimi platter to fusion Sushi Rolls, from red hot Spicy Ramen to Teppanyaki and Shabu-Shabu, you can satisfy all your Japanese cravings right here in Bali.

Ramen Dining Kazumi
Just about at the corner of the cherished Goutama Selatan street, nestled a small ramen dining called Kazumi. Shortly after a friendly server took our order, the owner Mr. Ken, a Yokohama native, gave us a very warm greeting. Open door since 2019 the Izakaya-style restaurant usually packed with customers at dinner time. Often referred to as “Ubud’s hidden gem.” this popular restaurant offers a delightful blend of traditional flavours and a cosy atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and travellers alike.
First and foremost, the top highlight is their signature melt-in-your-mouth char-siu pork. A rich blend of soy sauce, mirin, and garlic marinates the tender slices of pork to perfection. They are slow-cooked for 6 hours until they reach a perfect balance of sweet and savoury. And with each bite of the tasty meat, it practically dissolves on your tongue. The char-siu adds an irresistible flavour to the ramen, complementing the umami-rich broth and springy noodles, creating a combination that makes the craving come true with every slurp.
Menya Kenji
This restaurant offers an authentic Japanese ramen dining experience with its homemade ramen noodles and signature broth. They bring a Japanese subculture to feel in their design details, the overall design and ambience have been well-thought out and developed by a seasoned Japanese carpenter who has produced some of the iconic Japanese ramen stalls and Izakaya-style pubs in the streets of Nonbei Yokocho, Shibuya.
Taking its ramen broth very seriously, Menya Kenji believes that the key to a wholesome bowl of ramen is in its broth. With recipes originating from Fukuoka, Menya Kenji’s team of chefs bring the utmost care and attention to the process of creating its signature chicken and pork broth, freshly made daily with the finest locally-sourced ingredients, no artificial flavours and using a low and slow cooking method; taking up to 8 hours in the making.
Izakaya
