Suwarga Garden Opens a New Chapter for Celebrations in Jimbaran

There is something naturally special about celebrating outdoors in Bali. Surrounded by tropical greenery, open skies and the island’s unmistakable sense of place, even the simplest gathering can feel like an occasion.

A new garden destination has quietly opened its doors in Jimbaran. On 10 August 2026, Suwarga Garden at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali officially entered its soft-opening phase, introducing a new setting for weddings, gala dinners, product launches, corporate gatherings and MICE events, ahead of its Grand Opening on 25 September 2026.

Named after the Sanskrit word Suwarga, meaning heaven, the venue is built around a simple idea: “Where Every Moment Feels Like Heaven.” Rather than being designed as a conventional ballroom alternative, Suwarga Garden brings together the resort’s hospitality with the beauty of an expansive tropical garden, creating a flexible setting where celebrations can unfold naturally.

Set across approximately 6,800 square metres, the venue can accommodate up to 1,250 guests across a collection of distinctive outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces. These include The Banyan Court, Lawn Courtyard, Cascading Lawn, Pavilion and Waterfall Court, each offering a different atmosphere while remaining connected to the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of the garden is its seven-metre waterfall, adding movement and a sense of drama to the setting. Elsewhere, open lawns provide room for larger celebrations, while the more intimate spaces lend themselves to ceremonies, cocktail receptions and private gatherings.

The versatility is part of the appeal. A couple might arrive for a garden wedding beneath the tropical canopy, while a brand could transform the same landscape into an elegant product launch. Corporate groups can host conferences, gala dinners or incentive events, while social celebrations can flow from one space to another as the evening unfolds.

For Jan Kroeckel, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, Suwarga Garden represents more than simply an expansion of the resort’s event facilities. “This beautiful Wedding Garden is more than just a new venue. It is an additional facility that allows us to create even more memorable moments for our guests.’” The statement reflects the thinking behind Suwarga Garden: a space created not only to accommodate events, but to give guests more opportunities to come together, celebrate and create lasting memories in a distinct Balinese setting.

The venue’s soft opening follows a series of important milestones. The journey began with a traditional Melaspas and Mecaru Ceremony on 29 July 2026, a Balinese blessing performed to purify the space and prepare it for its new chapter.

On 10 August, the venue marked its inaugural opening with a traditional Chinese blessing ceremony, followed by a ribbon-cutting, tumpeng-cutting ceremony and Barongsai performance. The occasion brought together representatives from the resort’s owning company, Summarecon, including Ir. Sharif Benyamin and Edwin Halim, alongside the contractors and vendors who helped bring Suwarga Garden to life.

The gathering was also attended by the Lurah Jimbaran, members of the local community, and the team from Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, whose collective efforts have shaped the new venue. Their presence reflected the collaborative journey behind Suwarga Garden, bringing together the resort, its partners and the surrounding community to mark an important new chapter for the property.

Invited guests were then given the opportunity to explore the garden during a guided site tour, experiencing the different event spaces and discovering how the venue can be transformed for occasions ranging from intimate celebrations to large-scale gatherings.

With the soft opening now underway, Suwarga Garden is ready to welcome celebrations and events ahead of its official Grand Opening. Wedding planners, event organisers, corporate clients and prospective guests can arrange private site inspections to experience the spaces in person and work with the resort’s events team to create an occasion tailored to their needs.

The timing also places Suwarga Garden among the resort’s newest experiences as Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali continues to expand beyond the traditional resort stay. Located in the heart of Jimbaran, the resort combines its family-friendly hospitality, dining experiences and wellness offerings with a setting that makes it possible for guests to stay, celebrate and gather in one destination.

The Grand Opening on 25 September will mark the next chapter for Suwarga Garden, but the venue does not need to wait until then to begin creating memories. Its doors are already open, and the garden is ready for its first celebrations.
