IVS (Indonesia Vegetarian Society) and VSI (Vegan Society of Indonesia) Bali are once again holding an exciting event titled “The 15th WVO Conference and International Vegan Festival,” which will take place on October 17-19, 2025. The event, which is fully supported by several sponsors and health and environmental communities, such as LN Fortunate Coffee Soputan, Maitreyawira Bali School, Permatabumi Bali, Persadabumi Bali, and INLA (International Nature Loving Association), carries the noble goal of educating, inspiring, and spreading awareness of the benefits of a vegan (plant-based) lifestyle, which has a positive impact on public health and harmonious living between humans, other living things, and nature, in a sustainable environment. The presence of these many parties is proof that the vegan lifestyle is increasingly gaining a place in the hearts of the public, not only as a health trend but also as a moral movement for the preservation of the earth.

Taking place at the Maha Vihara Field and the Maitreya Buddha Training Center (Pusdiklat Buddha Maitreya Bali) at Jalan Gunung Soputan No. 88x, Pemecutan, Denpasar, this three-day event celebrates the vegan lifestyle community, whose positive energy is shared with the public.

“Although located in the Vihara area, we chose this strategic location, in the city center, to save on budget. As our company is a non-profit, we prioritized donations to the flood victims of September 10th. Besides, our friends in the vegan community often hold activities here as well. However, this event is open to the public; anyone is welcome to come and visit,” said Evi Juliana, Event Advisor and Tenant Coordinator.

A Lively Series of Events

This event will feature a variety of engaging, entertaining, and educational activities for participants and visitors, including:

  • A vegan culinary bazaar: featuring dozens of tenants, offering a variety of mouth-watering food and beverages.
  • A bazaar featuring creative products and attractive eco-friendly products.
  • Healthy exercise with INLA and yoga, led by I Gusti Raka Panji Trisna, to support a healthy and fit body.
  • A coloring contest for children as a means of fostering creativity from an early age.
  • A cooking demonstration, led by Chef Dwita Pradnya Artanti, teaches how to process plant-based ingredients into a variety of delicious dishes.
  • A vegan cooking contest with attractive prizes.
  • An inspiring talk show with world-class health figures, including:
    • Dr. Susianto Tseng (President of WVO and VSI Indonesia) – Vegan Nutritionist.
    • Denis Dolbin (Chairman of WVO Russia).
    • Michal Shark and Julia Shark (Owners of Brawium LIFE – Czech Republic & Slovakia).
    • Echo / Xu Zi Tong (Founder of Empathy School – China).
    • Eric Gonzales-Payne (Founder of Empathy School – USA).

They will discuss topics related to the benefits of plant-based nutrition, the health benefits of a vegan lifestyle, its contribution to environmental sustainability, and its role in shaping a peaceful future for humanity.

The blood drive, initiated by the PDDI Maha Vihara and the Maitreya Buddha Training Center in Bali, in collaboration with the Bali Provincial Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), is a tangible demonstration of social responsibility. This blood drive is free, open to the public, and will only take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

The arts and entertainment program features cultural diversity, entertains, and creates a warm atmosphere.

Enlivened by these diverse activities, this event is clearly not limited to a specific group or community, but is open to the general public, of all ages, from all walks of life.

“We held the event over three days over the weekend with the aim of providing a wider space for the general public to attend, learn about, and experience firsthand the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. People typically have more free time on weekends, allowing them to enjoy a series of events. Starting with a vegan culinary bazaar, there was a diverse selection of must-try vegan food and beverages, various creative products, and eco-friendly products. Inspirational and educational talk shows featured speakers from world health figures. There were cooking demonstrations and competitions, coloring contests, healthy exercise and yoga sessions, and entertaining arts events,” explained Siswanto, the Committee Chair, who also serves as the Chair of IVS Bali.

Furthermore, during this second edition of the “International Vegan Festival,” the committee also held “The 15th WVO Conference,” a series of events. WVO (World Vegan Organization) is a global vegan organization focused on health, peace, and the fight to end animal agriculture. Its members are various vegan communities and organizations from around the world. In this event, Indonesia was represented by IVS (Indonesia Vegetarian Society).

A Mouth-Watering Culinary Bazaar

The main attraction of this event is undoubtedly the vegan culinary bazaar. The committee is targeting a maximum of 45 tenants. So far, during the event’s preparation period, 35 tenants have participated, consisting of MSMEs, local vegan communities, schools, and eco-friendly product providers. Visitors will find a variety of creative vegan food and beverages, ranging from traditional plant-based dishes and healthy drinks to innovative new products that delight the palate without sacrificing vegan principles.

The bazaar’s purchasing system uses special coupons worth Rp50,000 per package. Each package contains coupons in different denominations (Rp5,000, Rp10,000, and Rp20,000), making transactions more practical, orderly, and transparent. This concept also supports more organized event management and reduces the use of cash on the premises.

Exciting Activities, Various Competitions with Attractive Prizes

In addition to the MSME bazaar and inspirational talk shows, the “International Vegan Festival” also offers visitors exciting activities such as fitness exercises and yoga, with no participant limit. Visitors looking to exercise for a healthy and fit body are welcome to join.

For those who enjoy a challenge, there are various exciting competitions to participate in, such as a vegan cooking competition, but limited to 10 participants. Meanwhile, the coloring competition for children is targeting 50 participants. The prizes up for grabs are substantial. Winners will be awarded prizes ranging from bicycles, gas stoves, pots, and various kitchen utensils. All of these prizes are designed to support a healthy lifestyle, in line with the spirit of the festival.

The organizers hope this event will be well-attended, attracting children, teenagers, adults, and families from all walks of life. There are no limits, as the essence of this event is to embrace everyone—anyone who wants to live a healthier life, care more about the environment, and appreciate life more.

Readers and the general public, if you would like to participate and register as a tenant, can contact Monica (WhatsApp number 087889882206) and Bagus (WhatsApp number 085959605801). Those interested in attending the event and purchasing a vegan culinary bazaar coupon can contact Deniyati (WhatsApp number 085216849147). (dp)
