Coffee—it’s the lifeblood for countless souls across the globe, isn’t it? That intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed beans seems to possess a magical power, reviving the weary and inspiring the caffeinated dreams of many. In Bali, the coffee scene has absolutely boomed over the last five years. Coffee shops have cropped up in every nook and cranny, each one vying to be the perfect spot for your next cuppa. Whether it’s a proper brew crafted by an authentic Italian coffee maestro, a serene meeting spot with stunning vistas, or interiors so stylish they’d make an Instagrammer swoon—there’s a coffee shop to suit every taste and whim. Let’s not forget the Wi-Fi, though. Honestly, who would choose a café without free internet these days? In Bali, reliable Wi-Fi is as much a staple as the coffee itself.

Of course, coffee isn’t just a beverage—it’s a ritual. And what better way to elevate that ritual than by pairing it with a decadent slice of cake? Sweet treats and coffee are like yin and yang, perfectly complementary and utterly irresistible. For die-hard coffee aficionados, we’ve rounded up some of Bali’s most exceptional coffee spots—places where the passion for serving the finest brew is unmatched. Ready to explore? Let’s dive into the island’s aromatic, flavour-packed coffee haven!

Crate Café

Is it a music venue? Is it an art gallery? Is it a café? The answer to all three is yes! This one of a kind hangout creates a genuine sense of community through a rotating gallery that changes each month, all kinds of live entertainment performed by talented artists’ local and visiting, and a menu that’s full of delicious dishes including vegan and gluten free options.

Situated on Jalan Canggu Padang Linjong, Crate Café is instantly recognisable, thanks to its standout industrial- chic look, made even bolder with striking murals and a mesmerising soundtrack that’s on from 6am to 4pm daily. Even if you’re not feeling hungry, Crate Café is still an excellent place to go for that Crate Coffee Blend, roasted daily. The home of Canggu’s coolest café boasts an onsite island inspired boutique concept store, where you can pick up all kinds of unique pieces of clothing and accessories.

Dawn Coffee and Eatery Canggu

Nestled in the heart of Canggu, Dawn Coffee and Eatery Canggu beckons with its warm ambience and pocket-friendly prices. What started as a humble venture has blossomed into a beloved hub for locals and travellers alike. Dawn is renovating the place with a new inspiring colour palate, creating more room for the Dawn family and community to gather and connect.

At Dawn, simplicity is key, evident in their bestseller: the delectable almond croissant. However, it’s the Dawn Breakfast that steals the show – a hearty plate featuring two eggs any style, two strips of bacon, two savoury sausages, slices of sourdough, and fresh tomato.

While Canggu sees its fair share of transient faces, Dawn boasts a loyal following. Newcomers are drawn in by the inviting atmosphere and stay for the sense of belonging fostered by the Dawn community. What sets Dawn apart is its familial charm. It’s not just a business; it’s a home. Behind the counter lies a house, symbolizing the intimate connection between the proprietors and their establishment.

Kawisari Coffee Farm Shop & Eatery

In a town overflowing with hip cafés, Kawisari Coffee Farm Shop & Eatery quietly carves its own path—anchored not just in style, but in substance. At its heart is a deep-rooted connection to *Indonesia’s coffee heritage, with beans sourced directly from the 100% organic, oldest coffee plantation in Java since 1870, the Kawisari Coffee Plantation, nestled on the volcanic slopes of Mount Kelud.

That heritage isn’t just romantic—it’s award-winning. Kawisari’s Arabica earned a Speciality Coffee Association score of 88, placing it among the finest in the world, while its Medium Dark Robusta took top honours at the World Coffee Competition in Paris. The beans are hand-sorted carefully, earning Tugu Kawisari Coffee the prestigious AVPA Paris 2019 award for its Medium Dark Robusta.

But this café isn’t just for the purists. The all-day menu offers comfort-driven flavours that include both international favourites and local soul, with the favourite being the smoky Nasi Goreng Bang Samin.

Whether you’re after coffee with credentials or a low-key lunch, Kawisari’s calm indoor space, complete with AC and strong Wi-Fi, is a welcome hideout for digital nomads, travellers, and anyone craving a little substance behind the scene.

Revolver Espresso Canggu

This place was established with the intent of making things much different from the traditional way. By sourcing some of the best coffee beans from around the world, proper roasting, blending and the entire processing procedures are done with a lot of keenness and precision. In order to produce high-quality coffee, they are working with the fabulous La Marzocco coffee machines and Mazza grinders. Other than just coffee, they also deal with main course meals.

The Flow

At The Flow Bali, close to the beautiful Pererenan Beach, you find a special place. Here, you can choose coffee from two famous names: Expat and Blacklist. Expat coffee is strong and sweet but not too sharp. Blacklist coffee is smooth, with a taste like nuts and caramel.

The food at The Flow Bali is very good. It mixes flavours from Bali, the West, and other places. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Their chef is very skilled and even won a big cooking prize in Bali. So, you know the food is top-quality.

This café is more than just a place to eat and drink coffee. It’s near a pretty beach where you can watch surfers and see beautiful sunsets. The people who work at The Flow Bali are very kind and make you feel welcome.

Coming to The Flow Bali means enjoying great coffee, eating tasty food, and feeling the friendly spirit of Bali. It’s a wonderful place to visit with friends and family.
