Bali is not all about all night hang out and parties! After you enjoy the fun for a couple of days, it is a good idea to switch the routine a bit so you can experience the whole Bali has to offer. If you are back at your hotel at dawn, now try to go during the first light of the day.

For some, it might be a bit difficult to make it happen. A good idea is to find a peer who will give you more motivation to get up from bed. Or, book a private driver/tour guide service. They will call you non-stop in the morning to get you ready.

Whenever you are ready, here are five different kinds of interesting morning activities to start your day in Bali.

ABOVE THE CLOUD

Mt Batur

A morning trekking to Gunung Batur (Mount Batur) is a rewarding morning activity for outdoor enthusiasts. Located in the central part of Bali, in Bangli Regency, the mountain is 1,717 meters high above sea level. The average time needed to reach the peak is about 2-3 hours hike walk at a normal pace. It means that you need to go to bed early or take a long nap and start the hike around 3am to be able to witness the morning glory.

LOCAL MARKETS

Traditional Markets Bali
Badung Traditional Market

If you are more into people and cultural interests, then local markets are the place to go. It vibrates the daily life of locals and their culture – getting the fresh products from surrounding areas, hearing the bargaining talk and joke in local Balinese language, tasting different kinds of local foods. It can be an interesting and exciting experience. Two ‘busy-morning’ markets that you can visit are Ubud Market and Badung Market. Come as early as possible as those mornings market will close around 7am and transform into an art market during the day.

GREET THE DOLPHINS

North bali
Lovina Beach

Going north to Lovina, Singaraja, a morning encounter with the dolphins is a must-do when you are in the area. Early in the morning, traditional jukung boats are lining at the beach, ready to take you about 1 KM offshore. You may not be able to touch the dolphins in their natural habitat. Yet, the experience of catch-me-if-you-can truly shows you how happy they are in the free ocean.

WALKTHROUGH RICE PADDIES

A morning walk at Bali’s scenic green rice field gives you an uplifting experience amidst the beauty of the mother of earth. As you walking through the morning haze, feel the wet and cold morning dew in your feet, and the warmth of the Sun as they appear from the hill. Some of the best places to do this are Tegalalang, Jatiluwih or Sidemen Village.

MORNING AT THE POOL

It is totally fine even if you are not an early riser, and prefer to stay on the bed until the sun has risen. After all, it is about enjoying the best possible day to start a day in Bali in good mood. So, how about a floating breakfast at the pool? You can’t say no. It is a morning pleasure while nurturing your body with healthy nutrition for the rest of the day. Check with your accommodation reception if they are serving the floating breakfast service. Selamat Pagi!
