The commitment of Candi Beach Resort towards sustainability is at heart. They firmly believe that Sustainability is more than a goal- it is a journey. The past five years they have steadfastly pursued initiatives within three primary areas of focus: sustainability management, environment, and people. Their journey so far has been marked by significant milestones and achievements. Their practices are in alignment with Travelife tourism standards and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
In 2017, they launched their sustainability policy and strategy, ensuring that all their staff members were informed and trained on these policies. This way, sustainability became an essential part of their daily operations and decisions. Within the sphere of environment, they have made strides in energy and water conservation, waste management, and biodiversity protection. Their efforts in the ‘people’ domain have led to a strengthened community, a well-supported staff, and enhanced social engagement.
The resort has set ambitious yet achievable sustainability goals for 2023 Their 2023 sustainable action and future goals contain: Waste management, community engagement, reduce water per guest per night, reduce energy per guest per night and their commitment to upholding human rights. For example, they respectfully ask their guests to contribute by considering their water usage during their stay or turn off the lights and appliances when not in use. Thereby they play a direct role in reducing our collective energy footprint. To ensure that they are making progress towards the sustainability goals, they implement strict monitoring procedures, such as Key performance indicators (KPIs).
Looking at the future, Candi Beach Resort & Spa aims to further solidify its position as a leader in sustainable hospitality, striving for excellence in service while maintaining a deep respect for the environment and local culture.
